Sorry to be a spoilsport, but it has always been 9 Apostles until few months ago when it became 8 (I was in Melb at that time). The other 3 collapsed years ago (prob 100s), so, now it is just 8 =D Still a breathtaking view!!

dai arjun: there are 11 left, one fell of in july. only that u can see seven from one lookout and four from another lookout. and there are two other rock formations apart from the 11 apostles called the rocksters. I took a chopper ride, was wonderful to catch them all in a row… the only way u can spot the 11 left out the 12 apostles is from a chopper or from the ship! from the land, u can only see 7 at a time! thats ur geography lesson for the day… ha ha!

Have always been of the opinion that there were only 9, here is an article that confirms that:
