For the first time, I had a taste of a live TV Debate, thanks to Baddy. Since it was on Superstar, I jumped at the invite, totally clueless about how it all works.
If you’ve been on Live TV, you would’ve got used to the audio-video time lag – the monitor in front of you is playing visuals corresponding to 3-5 seconds earlier but the audio you hear is live… So if you’re a first timer like I was, you’re gonna have a tough time concentrating.
Part of the confusion was I had no clue when I was on air and when I wasn’t because I kept getting cut off and though the host was nice enough to let me continue what I was saying, I had no clue which part of my quote was already aired and what wasn’t.
So there I am, all nervous!
You can access the entire debate here.
Wish I had known about this earlier… could have seen the debate on TV…
Hi Sudhish,
This comment is in no way connected to this blog. (Though I do read your blog often) I had mailed you at sudhish.kamath @gmail.com with some questions about being a feature writer….and I wondering if you had got it or not..and being the nice guy you are, hopefully you will reply 😀 and BTW – My name is Abirami Muthukrishnan.
nirenjan:
you can still see the debate by clicking on that link at the bottom or by clicking on that photograph.
abi:
no dude, I didn’t get any such mail. Just checked again. please send them over again, the address is right.
oh ..i missed watching u live on Tv..though i got to see it deferred live now..one word to describe u…”COOL”…and by the way whats ur view on anuradha sengupta’s review..she’s getting mauled all over!!
Hey Sudhish,
I have sent the mail again – but it might get into your spam folder…. mails from friends of mine( mailing me for the first time )have got into the spam-folder before……and if you dont receive the e-mail, do you have an alternate email – address where I can send the mail to?
Thanks,
Abi.
k.m.shravan dharmaraj:
thank you thank you thank you… no, not read. people have a right to their opinion… besides, Sivaji wasn’t meant for a sen gupta… and these north indians have a tendency to talk about things they don’t understand.
abi:
you can also send it sudhish at rediffmail or madeinmadras at gmail…
You look super comedy…
Hi Sudhish,
Thank You.
I have sent the e-mail to all your addresses 😀
You can see how desperate I am 😦
Abi.
“and also north indians have a tendency to talk about things they dont know”
rofl!!!
you where really tensed up during the interview.
The interviewer(cnn Ibn fool with a suit) could not actually understand your point, when you said , when Japanese people love Rajini Movies why not North Indians, for that he cut you instead he illogically said when russian people would watch rajkapoor-hindi movies , why not japanese people watch rajini – tamil movies.
CNN-IBN is big bogus news channel thriving on money from CNN , NDTV is much better news channel.
Hey, congrats! This is great!
Cheers
Shelob.
seriously man, u can fool everyone else with your liking towards Sivaji… but not urself… [:)] RAJNI IS A GREAT GUY. BUT THE PROJECTS HE TAKES UP SUCK BIGTIME.
It’s jus crazy to see such opinions on Indian media…
When movies in English, French and even Japanese are enjoyed – sometimes even with subtitles and being praised over by our media, then why not a tamil movie that’s made well within Indian boundaries… It’s jus like the dumb ‘Vote for TAJ’ campaign…where everyone knows Taj is a wonder… yet we need a poll to agree abt it…I take is – superheros are made and cannot be claimed…
Right on with your the debate and ur arguments..sudhish!
coool.
You are a nervous wreck out there! I guess being on TV does that to people.
Sudish…
actually the CNN-IBN anchor was comical..that guy was asking the poor distributor from Madras questions about the occupancy rate of Sivaji in TN rural areas.. total BS…
I think given that it was the first time in front of Live TV and with video-conferencing at is worst, you pinned it well.. 🙂
One more thing.. i noted that the anchor guy was actually a Tam guy…but avar utta PETERRRRRRRRRR thanagala…
Sudish,
Slightly late to your rather pre-eminent blog, but better late than never. I’ll comment on the Gangai Amaran Podcast first. I’ve been to some of his stage shows and always felt he was pretty entertaining. Plus it finally cleared up something that was bothering me for a while coz in places I knew wasnt listening to bhagyaraj’s voice while watching pudhiy vaarpugal. Interesting podcast.
On Sivaji being dubbed, I think it ought be a business decision. how much more viewership can they garner vs. cst of dubbing. All in all Id say you had a pretty good first time live TV showing.
I’m gonna try and catch up on old blogs. Its been interesting reading them. Good work and keep em coming.
BTW I went to high school with one of ur buds. Ask Abishekh Shah abt a Pauk, he might remember.
You came across as the only one who knew who what he talking about. The fluency which you spoke with is remarkable, considering the pressures of live tv. Hope to see more of you on air 🙂
kya ho gaya bhai!, blogging chod di kya! woh interview khe baat tumhara thu pura nikla hu wa hai
thala u were covered live on TV! I missed it! :((
Hey Sudhish you were good – but why was that fellow interrupting you? The minimum one could do is to let u finish……
very sorry about the late reply people.
just been a little busy with work.
Thank you all for your comments. And I hope the second performance in CNN was marginally better at least. it’s on my official movie blog:
