1. Kill Bill
2. Any Jackie Chan directed movie. Take your pic.
3. Speed
4. Mission Impossible (2 & 1)
5. Die Hard (all of em, but 3 is my fav.)
Tango & Cash really started the trend among the buddy flicks (action oriented ones!)! An honorable mention needs to be given to these guys! 🙂 Ravi @ ravikumar.blogdrive.com
Well, Ravi!
Tango and Cash is a really cool action flick awrite but I dont think it set any new trend… The first Lethal Weapon movie released a coupla years before Tango and Cash which is why I’ve included that ahead. But I suspect all these unlikely pairing cop buddy movies were inspired by the TV series Starsky and Hutch… I cant wait to watch the film version… The promos are really cool. And I really like Ben Stiller!
Cheers!
Top 5 deeZ_recommended films
1. Trainspotting
2. Requeim for a Dream
3. Snatch
4. Anything by Guy Ritchie
5. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
6. My Cousin Vinny (YOU MUST SEE THIS… make that you MUST see this …. for effect)
7. Fight Club
8. Reality Bites (if you like the script/screenplay/the beat generation/playing with words/et al)
Here’s a favorite quote:
There’s no point to any of this. It’s all just a… a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details. You know… a quarter-pounder with cheese, those are good, the sky about ten minutes before it starts to rain, the moment where your laughter becomes a cackle… and I sit back and I smoke my Camel Straights and I ride my own melt.
AND
Answering Machine: At the beep, please leave your name, number and a brief justification of the ontological necessity of modern man’s existential dilemma and we’ll get back to you.
Deez, Ive surely seen and liked 6 and 7. Fight club is mindblowing and I kinda like Reality bytes… i like Ben stiller, he made the movie, rite? and ive been hunting for trainspotting for years now, my cousin vinny i think i saw long ago on hbo, star or something, dont remember… Requiem too is already in my must-watch-yet-to-watch list. Hmmm you like Guy Ritchie… i got the script for Lock Stock… so u must like Oliver Stone two.. seen U-Turn? Thats good, its one of my favourites that I missed out on… Missed on quite a few actually… like a friend reminded me at work…
Snatch…not heard before… will take note…
and your quotes…really rock! which movie are these from?
Ravi’s note to self : Never open your mouth & put foot in! (re: Claiming T&C is a forerunner to LW). Thanks, Suderman! 🙂
Top 5 Romantic comedies without ‘When Harry met Sally’ and whacko comedies – have you seen ‘Road Trip’? totally awesome!
Of course, when Harry met Sally… you can put that at number three. But this is a movie which goes beyond the Romantic Comedy genre… maybe it’ll be there in the classics which im not ready to rate… not yet!
I’ve seen Road Trip but I love these five much much much more than road trip…certainly more hilarious methinks!
Yup, ‘WHMS’ is a classic. Completely agree. But I thought they killed it in ‘Hum Tum’. I went there because it was a rip-off of one of my fav movies but left majorly disappointed.
BTW, saw ‘Bride ad prejudice yesterday. My god, was it horrible. and what’s with those Sound of Musicesque songs with second-standard level lyrics.
‘I’m feeling great
Let’s celebrate’
Sheesh!
