A sorry and a thank-you!

April 22, 2005 · by sudhishkamath

A friend noticed that I’ve been mean to many who have disagreed with me in the comments section.

“Can’t you be kind,” she asked.

“I can only be me,” I said.

Seriously, I can’t pretend to be nice to people, especially anonymous strangers who leave smart ass comments. I’m not here to win a popularity contest. I mostly speak my mind. That way there is no bitterness accumulating inside. No frustration, no pent up emotions.

But having said that, I realised I just crossed 50,000 hits. Which means a lot of you have been reading my blog, in spite of me being rude or nasty in some occasions.

This blog is to thank you for listening. And for being around!

And also, to apologise to all those I have pissed off in the course of a quarrel or a debate! I don’t nor do I claim to be nice. Diplomacy is the last thing I believe in. So I’m pretty much sure that I’d have said quite a few mean things.

Sorry for that and thanks for putting up with me, in spite of all that!

Cheers!

Suderman: Do your thing dude! Ultimately, ppl who know you personally, know you personally. As long as they know where things are coming from, I dont think u gotta bother about other ppl. Slander is quite another thing, but I don’t think you are guilty of that crime.

Girish: Chey, thats what. If Bhangra (which is Punjabi folk art) can pass muster, why not Gaana (which is a form of urban Tamil folk art)!

Aal thotta bhoopathi, Kasu Mele, Manmadha Raasa and Naan Salt Coutors, not to mention Thalaivar’s intro songs are totally danceable!

    Go gaana! Deva vaazhga!

Machi Sudhish…. 50,000 hits could mean a lot of us have been reading your blog… it could also mean some of us have been reading your blog most of the time…
hehehe… didnt mean to burst your bubble machaan… but, that mean freak in me just wouldnt stay put…

Girish: Neither am I a Tamil freak, but what the hell is this about clubs not playing Tamil songs??? machaan overda…. something for the Suderdude to look into…

Hindi songs make me puke… Hindi could never dream of churning something like Boys, Kadhalan etc… well, unless its a rehash/rip off of one of our hits…

and machaan our gaana totally rocks!!! and could any day stand up to bhangra…

how could one forget Deva’s priceless gems of the 90’s… kothalchaavadi lady, whittu lagaan kozhi… and many many more…

@ Sudhish: Dude, that song totally rocks! Btw, went to this Indo-American dance night and totally had fun last night.. But no Tamil songs. Or Telugu songs, which I think rock too! Particularly Chiranjeevi songs! Captain padam Ramana oda telugu remake la, Chiranjeevi adara aatam irruke.. kannula othikalam πŸ˜€ He’s god! I don’t mind if they dont play songs, but don’t refuse to take requests! you cant have that as official policy! Are the “Dalith Siruthais” listening? Someone needs to take Thirumalvalavan into one of these discos! That way, he can channel his angst in the right direction! SUDISH, pls do that as a story and mebbe one of your senior ppl could pose a qn to Thirumalvalavan on this issue πŸ˜‰

Btw, Simran rocks in All thota boopathi.. I finally saw the song a couple of weeks ago and have been hooked. A friend had the video of just that one song and i see it atleast once a day πŸ˜€

@ Maharajan: I hold no copyrights on this issue :p
