In the last few weeks:
1. Was down with
a. Recurring flu
c. Wisdom Toothache
2. Travelled to
a. Kochi (for cousin’s wedding)
b. Bombay (to promote my film)
c. Delhi (for emigration clearance)
3. Travelling to
Manila (currently on an official trip, typing this from the Chennai airport)
a. Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part 2: Interesting, desi pulp fiction, a lil slow and flawed but works on charm. Arshad Warsi is first rate. It attempts to be different from frame one.
b. Pyaar Ke Side Effects: Surprisingly good, though inspired by Hollywood flicks from Harry met Sally to Wedding Crashers to Meet the parents to Notting Hill. But perfect for the date. The scoreboard scene still has me chuckling.
c. Dor: One of the year’s Top 4 movies along with RDB, Lage Raho and Omkara. I’ve seen the Malayalam original and I was still bowled over by how he made a potentially melodramatic tale into a feminist statement and retaining his Life is Beautiful style of filmmaking. World class cinema.
d. Perarasu: It really felt like watching one of those MGR movies. No, seriously. One Vijayakanth itself is reason to watch. Here we have two.
e. Lage Raho Munnabhai (3 times in 2 weeks): Kya fillum banayi hai, maamu! Must watch for every Indian. I havent seen a more entertaining packaging of Gandhi’s ideology. Makes it relevant, contemporary and practical in today’s times.
a. Darron Aronofsky’s The Fountain
b. Scorcese’s The Departed
c. Farhan Akhtar’s Don
d. Lost 3rd season.
U were misssssed!
All the best for everything.
Have fun in Manila. Maybe I’ll see you online in iChat.

ill put up a coupla pics soon, it was quite an adventure.
sorry ganesh. been busy trying to arrange my own film release. another month to figure out plans.
when the release dates are finalised, i will make hella lotta noise.
not seen the movie yet, heard only bad things about the film so far. so not that excited.
i wish i knew. will work out release dates by this month. watch this space.
sujith and peak day blues:
perumazhakaalam can be considered the original because its the same plot but given that the plot is based on a true story, and the screenplay is entirely different, Dor is original too.
ill look out for little miss sunshine. thanks. and will keep you posted about the film when details are finalised.
thanks. water has been on my list of movies to watch. i got the dvd but somehow never got around to watching it. kochi, wish the roads were wider and the traffic was not as rash.

“The Departed” is amazing. Right up there with Goodfellas. This might, just might get him that elusive academy award.
